Hotdog Hits Take Front and Center in “Hinahanap-HanapKita Manila” on December 13!

 

The Manila Heritage Trail and Manila Heritage Alliance, the associations of Manila’s tourism and cultural agencies, are setting the stage for the biggest online concert to end 2020 billed “Hinahanap-Hanap Kita Manila” - The Manila Heritage Concert presented by Tourism Promotions Board Philippines, City of Manila, Juancare Foundation Inc and Viva Music Publishing Inc.

 

The online concert, to be broadcast on December 13, is set to continue the tradition of Concert at the Park and Paco Park Presents, which have been a long-running endeavor of the National Parks and Development Committee. It promises to take both local and international audiences on a virtual tour of Manila’s cultural heritage sites featuring the music of the iconicHotdog Band.  Formed in 1972 and composed of Rene Garcia, Dennis Garcia, Ella del Rosario, Lorrie Illustre, Ramon Torralba, Jess Garcia, and Roy Diaz de Rivera, the group produced the Manila Sound that would forever beenshrined in Filipino pop culture. Who can ever forget their hits “Annie Batungbakal”, “Bongga ka Day”, “BehButi Nga”, “Ikaw ang Miss Universe”, “Oh Lumapit Ka” and “Manila”? 

 

The iconic artists performing for the Hinahanap-HanapKita Manila Concert will be headlined by Bras Pas Pas Paswith Raymund Marasigan, Ebe Dancel, Armi Millare, YengConstantino, Blaster Silonga, Nicole Laurel Asensio, Bing Austria, Bea Lorenzo, Rubber Inc. and Gary Valenciano.Boyet Sison will host the event with Department of Tourism Sec. Berna Puyat and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno as special guests. The concert’s various legs were creatively directed by Juno Oebanda, RA Rivera, Paolo Valenciano, Jason Tan, Alco Guerrero and Quark Henares. The concert is produced by Juno Oebanda, DindinAraneta and Jezreel Apelar with  Department of Tourism Culture & Arts of Manila Chief Charlie Duñgo and National Parks Development Committee Executive Director Cecille Romero at the helm.

 

The various historic venues featured in the concert are Manila City Hall, Luneta, Paco Park, Intramuros, Museo Pambata, National Planetarium and Jones Bridge.

The Manila Heritage Trail and Manila Heritage Alliance chose to make and show this extraordinary online concertbefore the Christmas Holidays in order to inspire people through music and visual arts; promote domestic tourism by showcasing Manila’s heritage sites; reinvigorate the live events industry; and, give tribute to front liners battling COVID-19.
