JV Ejercito to focus in Universal Healthcare, Department of Human Settlement or Housing and Infrastructure


Senator Joseph Victor Ejercito or Senator JV, as fondly called by the Filipinos, is a reliable ally of the people in the Senate. He began his career in public service as a young leader and President of the Junior Chamber International Philippines (JCI-Philippines)

He then became the Mayor of his hometown in San Juan City and later elected as Congressman.  In 2013, he became a Senator of the Republic of the Philippines. He’s serving as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography.  He’s also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Urban Planning, Housing and Resettlement.

Senator JV Ejercito is the principal author of the Universal Health Care Act, Republic Act No.11223. It aims to expand PhilHealth coverage, which would include free medical checkups, laboratory tests, and other diagnostic services. Other Heath Laws that he authored/co-authored and sponsored are National Integrated Cancer Control Act, Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act, Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act, An Act Providing for the Mandatory PhilHealth Coverage for All Senior Citizens, An Act Strengthening the Anti-Hospital Deposit Law, Mental Health Act, An Act Providing for the Mandatory PhilHealth Coverage for All PWDs, An Act Increasing the Excise Tax on Tobacco Products, and Imposing Excise Tax on Heated Tobacco Products and Vapor Products. 

JV promised that once he’s re-elected as Senator,  he will focus in Universal Healthcare, Department of Human Settlement or Housing and Infrastructure and will create a law/bill that will benefits the Filipino People.
