Ethel Booba and K Brosas Hit the Road with Morning Tsikahan in Lakwatsika
Travel talk show Lakwatsika is the newest addition to TV5’s TODOmax Morning block
A one-of-a-kind adventure is about to fill your weekday mornings with laughter and warmth as TV5 launches its first and original reali-talk show, Lakwatsika, produced by Cignal Entertainment in cooperation with Red Crane Studios and in partnership with the Department of Tourism.
Hosting the program are two of the Philippines’ top comediennes, Ethel Booba as the Lakwatserang Bibang Bibaand K Brosas as the Tsikadorang Puno ng Kwela. Join these two wacky hosts as they embark on a journey that will take you to places across the country and give you a glimpse of each town or city as they talk to the locals, explore their hometowns and discover some hidden gems along the way. Joining Ethel and K’s adventures are some of your favorite Kapatid stars and personalities.
“I’ve always wanted to be part of a travel show, where you just laugh because you’re enjoying the conversations and the experience. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to do this, as I clearly recall tweeting about wanting to host a travel show several years ago!” K shared.
For her part, Ethel revealed, “I can say that I have been to many places in the Philippines already because of previous shows I’ve been in, but here in Lakwatsika, the main subject of the show is not just the place but the people living there. I have learned so much while filming the show: you get to realize that the Philippines really is so beautiful, and that there are distinct values and personalities for every community, as evident in our episode in Masbate.”
Joining the fun are Lakwatsidoras who are On The Watch (OTW) as the show’s digital hosts — Queenay, the Bidang Batangueña, and TikTok content creator with 11.5 million followers, and Marimar Tua, Sing Galing’s First Ever Ultimate Bidaoke Star and TV5’s Reyna Probinsyana, on her TV show debut after her recent victory in Sing Galing.
For the show’s pilot offering, the duo will be visiting the rodeo capital of the country, Masbate, to check out and try what it’s like to be cowgirls. Also among the many hidden gems of the province, is the municipality of Cawayan, where majestic islands are waiting to be explored. The one-hour program also offers segments that will highlight interesting dishes, trivia, tips etc. about the featured place.
Lakwatsika has rightfully earned the support of the Department of Tourism (DOT) because of the goals and vision the show has, which work towards the promotion of local tourism and the instillment of pride in celebrating the beauty and heritage of one’s homeland. Travel experts and regional partners are expected to grace the show to share their knowledge and expertise about their respective provinces or region, thus making the show not only entertaining but also informative.
Hop on in this awesome journey filled with tsikahan only on Lakwatsika, airing from Monday to Friday at 11AM, starting on April 18 on TV5. For updates, follow Lakwatsika’s official social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tiktok.
