Pet Lovers Turn Your Stories into Film as Unleash PH Launches Pawscars Short Film Festival

Want to create your own film and your pet will star on it. Well, now you can.

The 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝘄𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 officially launched last May 27, with a media conference attended by filmmakers, pet lovers and press people. This unique festival invites storytellers to showcase short films under the theme “Unleash the Love,” focusing on the real-life magic that animals bring into our lives.

The festival introduced its all-star jury lineup: indie director Arvin Belarmino, filmmaker Joseph Abello and FDCP Chair and CEO, Director Joey Reyes, who also serves as Jury Head.

Who Can Join? If you love pets and storytelling, you’re in! Whether you're a filmmaker, content creator, or just a proud fur-parent with a camera—this is for YOU. The main filmmaker (director, producer, or scriptwriter) must be 18 years

old or older. Under 18? You’ll just need a signed parental consent form.

Open to all Filipinos around the world! (Heads-up: Finalists must be available for the Pawscars Night on Dec 14—travel expenses on you!)

This is a passion project fest—no production grants will be provided by UNLEASH.
